The Best Wedding Dresses from the First Virtual Bridal Fashion Week
Just like how many of you are choosing to move forward with your weddings right now, albeit celebrating in a very different way, Bridal Fashion Week soldiered through for a season that looked completely different from anything we've seen before. Spring 2021 brides will still get to see what bridal designers are offering, but the presentation was, well, different. That meant Zoom appointments, virtual collections, and in some instances (like Amsale and BHLDN) having models shoot lookbooks for these brands from home. The result—beautiful images that felt organic, and intimate. Just like a wedding day.
And while it wasn't the bevy of trends we normally see down the runways, this season wasn't totally void of stand out styles. Bows were certainly on display this season—showing up on some unexpected places like backs and shoulders at Sophie et Voilà , Nouvelle Amsale and Viktor & Rolf Mariage.
Brides will also have a place to stash their lipsticks and phones come next season, as dresses with pockets are definitely a trend on the rise. Rather coincidentally, a shift to minimalism seemed to permeate the season—feeling particularly timely as the new normal takes hold. Slip dresses, unadorned white gowns, and slim silhouettes were on display for many designers this season. These dresses were shown together with the usual bevy of lace and beading of course, but the mood was certainly skewing towards simple.
From the minimal to the downright party-ready, our editors were loving all the dresses that came down this season's virtual Bridal Fashion Week runways. Here, we choose our 15 favorites.
