Inside Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s $43,000 Babymoon
Looks like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry finally went on that babymoon! Their recent trip to Morocco was rumored to have been their pre-baby getaway, but turns out that was just for work. Their most recent trip, however, looks like it was entirely for play.
The couple stayed at the Heckfield Place hotel in Hampshire for a three-night babymoon, according to The Sun. All the rooms in this five-star hotel are what vacation dreams are made of, but of course the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stayed in a room fit for royalty. They reportedly shacked up in the hotel’s Long Room suite, which costs £10,000 a night, or approximately $13,000.
The price might seem steep, but the private apartment offers unrivaled privacy you can’t put a price tag on. According to the hotel website, the Long Room offers complete seclusion, and features a full dining room, a private terrace and balcony, and a full kitchen. In addition to the room’s stunning architecture, it’s decorated with the hotel’s private art collection, fireplaces and fresh greenery. Oh, and Meghan and Harry probably didn’t have to lift a finger the entire time since the suite comes with a personal butler.
According to a source, the parents-to-be spent their trip enjoying romantic walks, cozy fire-lit Âdinners and luxurious pampering—presumably at the Heckfield’s Little Bothy Spa.
“Meghan is only a couple of weeks away from giving birth, so Harry really wanted to treat her,” The Sun's source added. “They wanted total rest and relaxation, and Meghan was really attracted to the organic ethos of the hotel which produces much of its own food on an on-site farm.”
Her favorite dishes were reportedly the hotel’s signature chocolate-coated candied orange and roasted home-grown vegetables.
If you’re wondering what a babymoon of royal proportions—i.e. private suites, private butlers and world class dining—would run you, it’s about £33,000, roughly $43,000. That cost of course includes putting up your security detail in a luxe room too, if you require that kind of protection.

Luckily for Meghan and Harry the transition back to real life should be pretty smooth as they are going from one luxurious accommodation to another. They have reportedly officially moved into the newly renovated Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle, according to People. Initial reports of the renovations said their new home will include 10 bedrooms, a gym, a yoga studio and a separate nursery.
