Queen Elizabeth Reportedly Didn't Expect Meghan Markle to Wear a White Wedding Dress

By the looks of it, Meghan Markle and her royal grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth, have appeared to hit it off quite smashingly since the former actress married Prince Harry last May. There is, however, one thing about the newest addition to the royal family that Her Majesty doesn't exactly stan—Meghan's fashion choices. To which we say...huh?

For starters, according to Daily Mail, QE2 had some feelings about Meghan's wedding dress...namely the fact that she chose a white frock. Which is, you know, what brides do, but apparently that's beside the point.

"The Queen is said to have expressed surprise that Meghan, a divorcee, wore quite such a white dress for her wedding," the publication reports. Seems a little outdated in our humble opinion but ok...

Daily Mail continued, noting that Meghan's fashion "boldness" has been causing a bit of a stir among the House of Windsor. "Meghan is being told she needs to start dressing less like a Hollywood star and more like a Royal," sources from a Kensington Palace fashion team confessed to The Mail on Sunday. Can this poor gal catch a break!?

The Duchess of Sussex has been known to play by her own rules, but she may unfortunately have to redefine her fashion choices to avoid more side eye from the Queen. Even seemingly innocent things, like sporting a tuxedo mini dress on an adorable Hamilton date, don't exactly fly well in the royal playbook. Daily Mail also notes that Meghan reportedly stirred the pot during her solo visit with the Queen, when she misunderstood direction from Her Majesty's aides that the Queen would sport a hat, which signified that she should have followed suit. Don't sweat it, Meg—you live and you learn.

On a lighter note, however, the Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, are celebrating their 71st wedding anniversary today. We wish the same marriage prosperity to Prince Harry and Meghan, even despite the fact that the bride wore white (gasp!) to her second wedding (blasphemous!).
