7 Details We Loved From Vanessa Morgan and Michael Kopech's Wedding
We are just a week in to the new year but we might have already found the prettiest celebrity wedding of 2020! On January 4, Riverdale actress Vanessa Morgan married professional baseball player Michael Kopech during a gorgeous bohemian ceremony just south of Miami.
Hosted at the Historic Walton House, Morgan and Kopech kept their ceremony intimate, exchanging vows in front of just 35 of their closest friends and family. Afterwards, the party moved to another location on the venue's luscious grounds where guest dined, sipped and danced the night away.
As the first celebrity wedding of 2020, these newlyweds truly set the bar high for A-list nuptials to come! Planning a romantic, bohomeian soiree of your own? Consider stealing these seven beautiful details for your own big day. From the dress, to the cocktails to the photobooth, we just can't stop thinking about Morgan and Kopech's "I dos!"
Morgan chose the Finch gown, a sheer beaded number by Eisen-Stein, for her walk down the aisle. With long sleeves, a high neckline and intricate embellishments, the fitted gown was perfect for a winter wedding in a warm-weather destination.
The Pampas Grass
If there is one trend we can't get enough of right now, it's pampas grass and the Kopech's nuptials was covered in it. The wheat-colored flowering plant took center stage at the ceremony, lining the aisle and creating a stand-alone altar. Placed among pink and white flowers, the floral creations were also used to dress up the reception space—with dramatic bouquets hanging above long banquet tables.
The Personalized Cocktails
We promise you haven't seen signature cocktails like the one's Morgan and Kopech served. Catered by Craft Cartel, guests sipped on drinks straight from custom coconuts engraved with "Vanessa & Michael" as well as the venue name.
But the coconut concotion wasn't the only speciality drink the couple had served. The menu featured both a "His" and "Hers" custom cocktail. Dubbed the "Twin Flame," the "Hers" drink was made with gin, dolin blanc, raspberry preservatives, lemon juice, rhubarb bitters and egg whites. To top it off, the cocktail was served with an edible printed photo of two love birds. It looks almost too pretty to drink!
Decorated in a flowing garland of pampass grass and roses, their four-tiered cake was just as much a décor piece as it was a dessert! While we don't know the flavor just yet, there's a high chance it was one of these.
The Table Settings
Leather place cards tied around brown linen napkins marked each seat, while dinner was served on crisp white plates set among woven rattan chargers. Each guest was also given a minituare pair of binoculars to admire the flora and fauna of the venue's gardens.
The Dance Floor
The White Sox athlete and Canadian actress served engraved coconut cocktails with a custom dancefloor to match! Written in the same font, "Vanessa & Michael" was enscribed in the center of the floor. We can only imagine the first dance photos were epic.
The Photo Booth
Thanks to this celebrity couple, wedding photobooths just got an amazing upgrade in 2020. Instead of a traditional backdrop, they brought in an actual vintage Volkswagon bus for the occassion. Thanks to Florida-based company Rollin' Retro, guests literally climbed into a the backseat of a van to take their pictures!
